What is a Community/Neighbourhood Action Group?
A Community or Neighbourhood Action Group is a group of people with a real interest in helping to improve their local area. They get together to discuss local concerns and how they can all work together to tackle them by proactive problem solving.

Who can join the group?
Members should consist of local people have a real interest in shaping the policing in their area. Partner agencies, Police and key stakeholders also attend meetings but it is chaired independently.

What is the Police’s involvement?
The neighbourhood policing team will be in attendance but not chair the meeting. They will be there to help make decisions and commit to realistic and achievable actions.

Please visit www.police.uk and click on ‘find your neighbourhood’ type in your town/postcode to get contact details for your local neighbourhood policing teams. They will be able to provide you with details of Community or Neighbourhood Action Groups in your area.
