THE NEW PAVILION APPEAL
The patron
I am delighted to be a Patron and to give my support to the New Gallowstree Common Pavilion Appeal. This wonderful venue has outstanding cricket and football clubs and the new pavilion will enable the use of the playing fields for other sporting activities and encourage more young people to become engaged in sport.
Please help in any way you can.
John Madejski OBE DL
The cost
The Playing Fields Committee aim to raise funds through grant applications, lottery funding, public donation and fundraising events. Details of the interior finishes and other particulars have still to be decided but, based on the size and type of building, it is estimated that a new pavilion will cost at least £500,000. More than £120,000 of this has already been given or pledged
The appeal
From the Chairman of the Kidmore End Playing Fields Committee
Dear Fellow Resident,
We are now actively seeking the balance of the funding needed for this project. We hope to secure much of the cost from public bodies such as the English Cricket Board and Sport England (which allocates money from the National Lottery Fund). It is important, if these approaches are to succeed, that a significant proportion of the cost should be contributed by the local community, as in the case of the present Pavilion.
I very much hope you will feel able to contribute generously to this very worthwhile project to bring up to date an important part of the local infrastructure. Please feel free to contact me or any member of the Fundraising Team named below to discuss further how you can help.
Yours sincerely,
Roddy Young
